Benazir Bhutto

Benazir Bhutto was the first woman Prime minister in an Islamic state.

here's a link to learn about who she was and what she did for women:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benazir_Bhutto

you could also, see her assasination on Youtube.com
just type in her name.

I thought I would show her because she is another example of a strong woman leader who was killed because people thought that if she brought change to women's lives then God will punish them. The people who think like that are brain washed in believing that they are going to be rewarded by God if they kill her and themselves.

Wow.
That's the first thing that came to mind when I read this post. I can't believe this woman was murdered simply because she wanted to bring a positive change to the woman of her culture.
Here's a question though: were women supportive of her assassination or did they want the freedom and rights? It's even sketchier if only the men wanted her assassinated because it shows the control that men have and are afraid to lose.

Of course the women wanted the freedom but the problem was the men were the ones who didn't want it to happen. Her husband actually helped her get to where she was today. I believe that a group of men didn't want this to happen so they came to her speech to assasinate her and once they got the chance, they succeeded. I was watching it on youtube and they show the man who shot her. We don't really get a good picture of what went down but we do get enough information. Everytime she brought it I believe to the courts, they denied it. And of course that is all run by men, which shows why it was denied everytime it was brought up.
